Kahlil Bell

NFL Alumnus Kahlil Bell was born in Santa Rosa, CA. He attended Montgomery High School for two years before transferring to Marin Catholic. There he lettered and excelled in Football, Basketball, and Track. In 2003 and 2004, The SF Chronicle named Bell Regional football player of the year. As a Senior, Bell was named All Metro on both Offense and Defense and was awarded Back of the Year. He led the Bay Area in rushing with 2,292 yards and 31 touchdowns. He set school records for most rushing yards in a season, most touchdowns in a season, most carries in a season, and highest average per carry. Bell still holds the Marin Catholic Record for touchdowns in a season with 30, including 23 in the MCAL. In basketball his team won 3 league titles and the North Coast Section Championship his Senior year.

After graduating with honors from Marin Catholic Bell earned a full ride football scholarship to UCLA. As a freshman, Bell won the MVP award at the Sun Bowl where he gained 136 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Injuries throughout his college career (including a torn ACL) did not stop Bell from pursuing his dream of making it to the NFL.

In 2009 Bell was signed to the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. His first NFL carry was a 72 yard run which set a NFL record at the time for the longest first carry of a career. He played with the Bears for 4 years before signing with the Jets in 2013. He ended his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers in 2014, making him a 5 year NFL Alumnus.

Still having the passion and love for football Bell became the Running Back coach at San Francisco City College. In 2015 the team won the National Championship. The following year Bell joined the Arch Bishop Riodian Crusaders to coach along side his brother Darius Bell (former UCLA Quarter Back and Wide Receiver) now Assistant Athletic director for the Serra Padres and offensive coordinator. He then decided to go back to UCLA to finish his Bachelors Degree.

In 2020 Bell partnered with Rick Winter, his former high school Basketball Coach, CEO of North Bay Basketball Academy, as well as the NFL to create a youth flag football league and skills camp called D1 Bound Football Academy. The goal is to provide a fun, safe environment where kids can improve their fundamentals, knowledge, while also competing to the best of their abilities.

Rick Winter

Rick Winter coached high school basketball for 25 years amassing an overall win-loss record of 456 - 252 (.644 winning %), including 20 years as a varsity head coach. He began his varsity coaching career at Damien High School in Southern California. In 1993, only his third year at the helm, he led Damien to only their second Baseline League title in the school's 40-year history.

In 1995, Winter relocated to Northern California to become the varsity head coach at Marin Catholic High School. Over his 15-year career at Marin Catholic, Winter retired with the 4th highest win % (146 - 62; .701%) in Marin County Athletic League history and an overall won-loss record of 285 - 165 (.633 winning %) at the varsity level. He is the winningest coach in school history where he won six Marin County Athletic League Championships (four in a row from 2002-2005), three North Coast Section championships and four California State Playoff appearances, including two State Semi-Final appearances. Eight of Coach Winter's teams finished their season ranked in the top 10 of California's Division IV.

Over the course of his 20 years as a varsity head coach, Winter also helped develop 18 players at Marin Catholic and Damien that went on to have successful careers at the collegiate level, including nine Division I players. Coach Winter was named the 2005 Northern California Division IV Coach of the Year and was named a North Coast Section Honor Coach in 2006 for his contributions to the game on and off the court.

In the summer of 2010, Coach Winter opened the North Bay Basketball Academy. His goal was to improve the fundamentals and skills, as well as mold players into leaders in the local community, in Marin County, California. Through the first four years over 3,000 players have come through the program.

In the summer of 2011, Winter became a consultant with Jeff Fryer, former LMU standout and professional basketball player, and the Fryer Basketball Academy in Newport Beach, California.

In December 2013, Coach Winter partnered with Miami Heat head coach, Erik Spoelstra, to create the Erik Spoelstra Basketball Academy in Miami, Florida. Coach Winter was the Executive Director of ESBA.

Most recently, Coach Winter partnered and served as a consultant with the Beach City Basketball Academy in Long Beach, California and is currently a consultant with First Coast Basketball Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.


Trent Herzog

Varsity Coach St. Vincent's HS / Western Region Scout, National Preps

Trent is a lifelong resident of Petaluma and has been the Head Football coach at St. Vincent de Paul High School since February 2018, in his two years at St. Vincent his teams have gone 15-7 and have participated in the section playoffs both years. He has 20 years experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and is also well known as a local football coach. He has been a part of many Championship teams during his 27 years as a coach, 10 years as a Head Football Coach (88 wins, 42 losses), and his teams have made the playoffs in all 10 years as him as the head coach. He has been a part of 9 Championship teams as a head coach or defensive coordinator. In 2013, his team went 14-1 and is considered the best team in Casa Grande history and one of the best ever from Sonoma County. He was also named Max Preps Northern California coach of the year and Redwood Empire coach of the year in 2013, and Sonoma County coach of the year in 2010 and 2011. He has had great success mentoring student athletes on and off the field. Trent has helped over 60 of his former players receive athletic scholarships all over the United States, He is also a highly respected football scout who works with many of the nation's top college football programs including Alabama, Cal, Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Texas and many more.

Tamalpais Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator

Matthew LemMon is the current Tamalpais Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator. He began coaching at Hercules High School after graduating from Saint Mary's College with his Masters in Teaching. Recruited out of high school to play at mid major Division 1 schools before tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL for the fourth time, Coach LemMon learned most of his football knowledge from varying former NFL players and coaches including his Grandfather who played for the Philadelphia Eagles, former Cal/Stanford coaches Mike White and John Ralston, and his father who played for the University of California at Berkeley. The philosophy he holds in coaching is one that centers around accountability and hard work as well as perfecting the basics of the game of football
